Descriptive Note
Voucher registers record the names of creditors paid by cheque and show to which area of abattoir activity the payment has been charged. The stock inventories record the quantities of manure, neatsfoot oil, runners, tripes, casks, drums etc. purchased and utilised during each month. The Municipal Abattoir in Maxwells Line operated as a Council department from 1917 until 1951, when it was leased to private operators.
