Descriptive Note

Fire envelopes containing papers relating to the postponement of rates on properties in the city. These files have been kept in order to show the documentation required to postpone the payment of rates until the death of the ratepayer or the sale of the property. The envelopes contain correspondence with the ratepayer or his/her solicitor, the application for postponement and correspondence with the district Land Registrar, regarding the registration of a charge against the title of the property. The records are arranged in numerical order by Valuation Number of parcel of land.
