Descriptive Note

Minutes of the Showgrounds Board of Control which administered the Palmerston North Showgrounds after they were transferred from the Manawatu and West Coast Agricultural and Pastoral Association to the Palmerston North City Corporation in 1974.

These records were kept by the Board of Control and are the original signed copies of the meeting minutes. They were transferred to the City Archives from the Arena at a later date. A set of minutes, which were submitted to the Council at the time, are also held in Series 1/5/5, File 83/21/7.
